Good questionsFrequently asked
Honest answers, including the ones that aren't great for sales. If your question isn't here, just ask us.
The basics
Is credit repair legal?
Yes. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act you have the right to dispute information you believe is inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable. We help you exercise those rights through a professional, organized process.
Can you remove accurate negative information?
No — and no honest company can. Accurate, timely, and verifiable items generally stay on your report for the time allowed by law. We focus on challenging items that appear inaccurate or unverifiable.
Do you guarantee a specific score increase?
No. Results depend on your individual credit profile and cannot be guaranteed by anyone. What we promise is a consistent, transparent process and clear communication throughout.
Could I do this myself for free?
Yes. You can dispute directly with the credit bureaus at no cost, and you're entitled to free annual copies of your reports from annualcreditreport.com. People hire us for the expertise and the follow-through, not because the law requires a middleman.
What kinds of items do you challenge?
Anything that looks inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or that the furnisher can't verify — accounts that aren't yours, duplicate entries, wrong balances or dates, accounts still listed as open after being closed or settled, items past the reporting period, and identity-theft entries.
Timelines & results
How long does it take?
Every situation is different. Bureaus generally have about 30 days to respond to a dispute, and many clients see activity within the first few cycles. We keep you updated the whole way.
How long do most people stay enrolled?
It depends entirely on how much there is to work through. Some people finish in a few months; more complicated reports take longer. Because it's month-to-month, you're never paying for time you don't need.
What happens if a dispute is rejected?
A rejection isn't the end of the road. We review the bureau's reasoning, and where the response doesn't hold up we escalate — including going back to the furnisher of the information directly. Sometimes the answer really is that the item is accurate, and we'll tell you that plainly.
Will disputing hurt my credit score?
Filing a dispute does not itself lower your score. Scores can move while a dispute is open as items are updated or temporarily flagged, and they can move for reasons unrelated to us — new balances, a missed payment, a hard inquiry. We'll help you read what's happening.
Signing up & billing
How do I sign up and pay?
Head to Get Started to create your account and pay securely online in minutes. It's month‑to‑month, and you can cancel anytime.
What does it cost?
$75/month for one person, or $125/month for two people in the same household. There's no setup fee. Every service is included in both plans — see Pricing.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. Service is month-to-month, and you may cancel at any time without penalty.
What do you need from me to start?
Your basic identifying information and access to your credit reports so we can review them. We'll walk you through exactly what's needed once you've created your account — nothing complicated, and nothing you shouldn't be comfortable providing.
Privacy & security
How is my personal information protected?
Your information lives in an encrypted client portal rather than in email threads or spreadsheets. Access is limited to the people working on your file. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and why.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We don't sell your personal information. We share it only where it's necessary to do the work you hired us for — for example with the credit bureaus when filing a dispute on your behalf — or where the law requires it.
Can I see what you've filed for me?
Yes. Your client portal shows the disputes in progress and the responses as they come in, and you'll get a written progress update each month.
Your rights
What is the CROA and how does it protect me?
The Credit Repair Organizations Act is the federal law governing companies like ours. Among other things it means we can't make untrue or misleading statements about what we can do, we must give you a written contract and a written statement of your rights before you sign, and you have the right to cancel that contract within three business days. Our disclosure page covers this in full.
Can I cancel after I've signed up?
Yes. You have a federal right to cancel your contract within three business days of signing, for any reason, at no charge. Beyond that window, service remains month-to-month and you can cancel at any time without penalty.
What should make me suspicious of a credit repair company?
Guarantees of a specific score, promises to remove accurate information, pressure to pay a large fee upfront before any work is done, advice to dispute everything indiscriminately, or any suggestion that you create a "new credit identity." All of those are either illegal or a bad idea, and some are both.
